The
Audiovox Thera was the first Pocket PC to have
integrated cellular wireless communication capabilities and proved to be the first step in moving Windows Mobile from a PDA-centric OS to the smartphone operating system used today.
Using a Qualcomm chipset, the Thera was a dual-band
Pocket PC Phone with PCS and CDMA capabilities.
The Thera has long been discontinued but continues to live on in touchscreen smartphones used today. The Thera worked with the Verizon Wireless and Sprint/Nextel networks.
