Bluetooth
is a short-range wireless technology designed to replace wired connections
between electronic devices. Named for a 10th Century Viking who united Norway and Denmark, Bluetooth makes
it possible for Pocket PCs to connect to cell
phones, printers, computers and more, all without
wires.
Primarily, Pocket PC users benefit from Bluetooth
for two reasons: The first is Bluetooth's ability
to create a wireless Internet connection between
a Pocket PC and Bluetooth-capable cellular
phones, transforming a data-capable
phone into a wireless modem. The second is Bluetooth's
ability to establish a wireless connection
between a Pocket PC and a computer -or even two Pocket
PCs - for data exchange.
