iPAQ 3950 Pocket PC

The iPAQ 3900 series was the third generation of iPAQ Pocket PCs and the first iPAQ line to feature XScale processors. Aesthetically similar to the iPAQ 3800 series, the iPAQ 3950 and 3970 were the last iPAQs to carry the Compaq logo.

In addition to being powered by the 400MHz XScale processor from Intel, the iPAQ 3900s feature an SDIO slot. Another improvement that made the 3900 series a hit was its front-lit screen, called a Transreflective, or Transflective, TFT. Transreflective screens are brighter and crisper than reflective displays and make viewing easier on the eyes in both indoor and outdoor lighting conditions. A new IR port with increased was used in the 3900s for better universal remote functionality.
