In
late 2003, HP released two iPAQ Pocket PCs,
the iPAQ 4355 and the
iPAQ 4155. The iPAQ 4155 built upon the popular
design of the iPAQ 1900 Pocket PCs, but offered substantial
performance improvements over that entry level series.
The iPAQ 4155 - also sold as
the 4150 - is only .53" thick, which makes
it only .03" thicker than the ultra-thin iPAQ
1900 series. But, unlike the 1900 series, this tiny
form houses a fast 400MHz XScale processor, 64MB
of RAM and integrated Bluetooth and 802.11b Wi-Fi. The 4150 was the thinnest and lightest
Pocket PC with onboard Wi-Fi when it was released.
Many
technology reviewers believe the iPAQ 4155 to
be the best marriage of form and function
of any Pocket PC ever released. In September 2005, HP announced the iPAQ rx1950, a mid-range Pocket PC physically identical to the iPAQ h4155.
