Looking
very much like a shorter version of the iPAQ
h4355, the iPAQ hw6500 Series Pocket PCs were designed as
a direct attack on Palm's then Palm OS-only Treo
line of smartphones, with a square display, integrated
thumb keyboard, and onboard digital camera (digital camera on hw6515 only).
The
Mobile Messenger has both Secure Digital
and miniSD card slots. It
also has Bluetooth wireless onboard, but
no Wi-Fi. Last,
but certainly not least, the iPAQ hw6500 Series features an integrated GPS receiver and included
TomTom Navigational software for turn-by-turn
driving directions.
The
iPAQ Mobile Messenger is a GSM/GPRS/EDGE
device and runs Windows Mobile 2003 SE and a version of Good Technology's
Outlook-like GoodLink software.
The unit
was available on the Cingular
Wireless network, but has been discontinued.
