For the first time since 2005, HP has released a new series of standalone, non-Phone Edition iPAQ Pocket PCs. Meet the iPAQ rx4240 and rx5915 Mobile Media Companions.
Like the rx3000 Series introduced in 2004, the rx4240 iPAQ is a multimedia-centric device aimed squarely at non-business consumers. The new iPAQ rx4240 looks a bit quite different than other Pocket PCs on the market today, more like portable media player than a traditional Pocket PC.
Powered by the Samsung SC32442 400MHz processor, the iPAQ rx4200 Series offers 802.11g Wi-Fi, the Windows Mobile 5 for Pocket PC operating system, Bluetooth 2.0, a 128MB ROM, 64MB of RAM, a 2.8" QVGA display and an Secure Digital slot with SDIO compatibility.
The rx4240 is now available in the United States, along with the larger GPS-enabled iPAQ rx5915.
