Evernote has been around for awhile, for both computers and for mobile devices. The iPhone version of Evernote extends the service’s reach to Apple’s smartphone and provides one more way to keep your life organized while you're on the go.
If you’re like me, the ability to take notes is critical to your professional and personal life. Evernote allows more than just jotting (or typing) a quick memo, it also makes recording voice notes and using photos as notes as easy as the tap of a finger. Best of all, each note type is available and accessable across computer platforms (a PC and Mac version of the Evernote software is available as a download), in the Cloud via web browser, and on your handheld. |
Evernote for iPhone is a free app and the service is also free within specific usage limits. Chances are most users will never need more than the free service. The no-cost version of Evernote has limitations, 20,000 text notes, 400 mobile shapshots, and 40 audio notes up to 40MB per month. If you need more, you can dramatically increase these limitations for a monthly or yearly fee.

What would make Evernote for iPhone better? I’d like to see an option to translate voice notes into text, which is already offered by another free iPhone app called Jott. The ability to save web clips from Safari would also be a useful feature, but may not be possible given Apple’s tightly closed system.
Bottom line: Fast, convenient, Cloud-based and free, EverNote is today's ultimate note management solution for the iPhone. If productivity is an important part of your life, professional or personal, do yourself a favor put Evernote everywhere (including your iPhone, of course).
