October 17, 2006 - Spectec, the Taiwanese manufacturer of a number of SDIO peripherals, has announced the release of the world's first microSD 802.11g Wi-Fi card. This card would be primarily for use with smartphones, as more and more handhelds employ the microSD card slot.
The Spectec SDW-183 microSD Wi-Fi card is compatible with both 802.11b and 802.11g networks, supports the SDIO Now! v1.0 interface, and is designed for the Windows CE platform, which includes Windows Mobile.
