September 7, 2006 - In late July, we first introduced you to the HTC Excalibur, a slim Windows Mobile smartphone obviously designed to decimate the Motorola Q. Today, HTC finally confirmed the existence of the Excalibur, though it has been renamed the S620.
As reported in July, the S620 will employ a landscape display, a QWERTY keyboard, and the Windows Mobile 5 operating system, just like the Motorola Q. What we then speculated, onboard Wi-Fi, has also been confirmed, as well as integrated Bluetooth and Quad band GPRS/EDGE.
While HTC plans to release the S620 in Europe sometime in October, there's still no word on U.S. availability, though you can rest assured that at least one U.S. wireless carrier will grab this new handset sooner or later.
Start calling Cingular and T-Mobile now, if you're not above begging.
