September 18, 2006 - In early September, HTC confirmed the existence of a Windows Mobile smartphone formerly code-named Excalibur, and officially declared the handset to be the S620. Reports are now surfacing which indicate that the S620 will be sold by T-Mobile as the Dash, perhaps as early as October 2006.
The S620 sports a landscape display, a QWERTY keyboard, and the Windows Mobile 5 operating system. Onboard Wi-Fi has also been confirmed, as well as integrated Bluetooth and Quad band GPRS/EDGE.
The HTC H620 will be a direct Motorola Q competitor. The handset has many of the same features as the Q, plus built-in Wi-Fi. It also appears that the S620 is a good bit smaller than the Q.
While the October 2006 T-Mobile release may occur in other parts of the world, there's little doubt that T-Mobile - and perhaps other U.S. wireless carriers - will grab this new handset sooner or later.
