According to PhoneArena, Verizon Wireless has big Windows Mobile plans for the month of November, a month in which the wireless carrier plans to release three new WinMo handsets.

PhoneArena and various other sources are reporting that Verizon will add its own CDMA versions of the Samsung Omnia and HTC Touch Pro (XV6850) to its lineup, as well as the Samsung SCH-i770 Saga, which appears, at least for now, to be a Verizon exclusive
As more information becomes available, it will be posted to the News Center. Verizon has yet to confirm the November release dates, but it’s fairly certain we’ll see each of these smartphones in Verizon stores before the 2008 holiday season.

Two new iPAQ Windows Mobile Smartphones are coming, the iPAQ Voice Messenger and the iPAQ Data Messenger. It’s unclear whether or not these are replacements to, or siblings of, the iPAQ Oak and Silver we’ve been hearing about for the last few months. What is clear is that these two new handhelds represent HP’s renewed push into the consumer handheld market.
The iPAQ Voice Messenger is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard non-touchscreen smartphone, while the Data Messenger is a touchscreen Professional device with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. More details to come.

We first told you about the Samsung Epix earlier this month, and today AT&T Mobility made it official. The new Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Smartphone is now shipping for $99 with a 2-year service agreement and a mail-in rebate.
Aside from UMTS/HSDPA 3G mobile broadband, aGPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a microSDHC card slot, the Epix also features an optical navigational interface which works like the trackpad on a notebook PC. The Epix is the only smartphone sold in the U.S. with this type of system navigation.
The Samsung Epix is available today at the AT&T Mobility Web Store with limited availability at AT&T retail stores.

Pharos helped pioneer Windows Mobile devices with built-in GPS, but these days a smartphone without GPS is looked on with scorn. Nevertheless, Pharos is reading two new Windows Mobile Smartphones, one Professional and one Standard.
The Pharos Traveler 127 is a non-touchscreen device running Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard; the Traveler 117 is a WM 6.1 Professional touchscreen smartphone. Of course, each handheld has onboard GPS. Other features include HSDPA and dual cameras (front and rear facing).
More on these new Pharos offerings later in the week.

The new Palm Treo Pro is sold exclusively as a GSM/GPRS unlocked handset and, as far as anyone could tell, 1) that was the way it was going to stay or 2) the Treo Pro might show up at some point bearing an AT&T or T-Mobile logo.
But now, WMExperts has uncovered speed test results which show a device labeled as the “Sprint Treo850e,” and there’s speculation this could be a CDMA version of the Treo Pro operating on the Sprint wireless network.
Now, this is by no means definitive data (and barely data at all, for that matter), but it is certainly worth noting. Could Palm be working on a Sprint version of the Treo Pro for release later this year?
Only time will tell.

The Sprint Touch Pro, close sibling to the Sprint Touch Diamond, was originally expected to be available on October 21st – this coming Tuesday. However, CNet is reporting that there will be a slight delay in bringing the new Touch Pro to users, primarily because of inventory concerns.
A Sprint rep is quoted by CNet as saying customers “…can expect the device to become available in select national retailers by the end of the month and then in all Sprint sales channels including online at www.sprint.com and Sprint Stores by early November.”
Stay tuned for the latest…

The list of non-upgraded Windows Mobile 6 handsets is getting short! Today Sprint announced the availability of a ROM upgrade for the Samsung Ace SPH-i325 which updates the OS to Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, adds Office Mobile 6.1 functionalities, and adds support for GPS applications such as Sprint Navigation.
As with all ROM updates, you’ll need to backup the data on your handheld before the update process because it wipes the handheld’s memory.
