Opera Mobile Web Browser

The latest version of the Opera Mobile web browser has been released for Windows Mobile devices.

Version 10.3 adds support for non-touchscreen Windows Mobile smartphones (WM Standard), Flash Lite 3.1 support, Opera bookmark sync (if you happen to use Opera on your PC or Mac), automatic touch-to-dial phone number linking, and general fixes.

Visit the Opera Mobile web site for more information, or to download the new browser directly to your Windows Phone, go to m.opera.com from your smartphone’s web browser.

Please correct the incorrect usage of the term “windows phone” as that name is reserved for the “windows phone 7 series”, which has NO COMPATIBILITY with opera or any other browser currently. Windows Mobile 6.5.3 and earlier have the ability to load Opera Mobile and Mini dependent upon what device you possess.

    Hi, Justin:

The term “Windows Phone” was adopted by Microsoft around the time Windows Mobile 6.5 was released, so use of the term in the posting above is not incorrect. You are correct when you state that none of the current Opera browsers work with the Windows Phone 7 OS.

So thanks for pointing that out to those who might jump to the same conclusion you did. Easy mistake.

So then if u own a windows 7 phone u are stock with windows explorer? If windows 7 mobile doesn’t support cab files what is the new file format it supports?

Javascript’s basic “prompt” dialog box may not be the sexiest way to interact with a website visitor, but it is supported by every single pc browser i have ever encountered and works nice with iphone, android, symbion and windows mobile 6.5 safari and ie. Has anyone noticed that ie on wm7 anoyingly bypasses the instruction and ignores that there should be an input? It is critical that wm7 phones offer an alternate browser like opera that works properly for such basic websites functionalities if ie can’t do the works. Anyone from MIcrosoft who reads this please check for yourself and do something about it

Windows phone 7 uses xap files in place of cabs and are way more regulated so you are not encouraged to side load.
