I’ve been actively looking for 32GB microSDHC cards for weeks, and have yet to see any show up in my favorite online stores (Amazon, Buy.com, etc.). This morning, after a friend asked me what was going on the 32 gigabyte microSD front, I decided to dig a little deeper. Although there are still no 32GB microSDHC cards in the top-tier online stores (as far as I can tell), there are now several of these gems for sale on eBay, new and unopened.
Most of the search results for “32GB microsd” are 32GB standard SD cards or kits with two 16GB microSDs, so I’ve tried to narrow the results as much as I can to help shoppers looking for these new high-capacity cards:

Keep in mind that 32GB microSD cards won’t work in every device with a microSDHC card slot, though most late-model Windows Mobile and Android smartphones are 32GB-ready. Check your product literature for details.
UPDATE: Some users have posted comments regarding 32GB microSD scammers on eBay. Unfortunately, scams are always a possibility with P2P sales services like eBay, but there are ways to reduce the risk to almost zero:
-
Check sellers’ ratings to make sure they’re highly rated – 99% or better is ideal.
-
Don’t purchase items from eBay sellers with less than 30 recent sales which have received positive ratings.
-
Check a seller’s sales history to see if they’ve sold the same item you’re looking to buy and have received positive feedback from a buyer for it.
-
Pay with a service like PayPal that has a buyer protection policy.

Just be wary that these are not smaller cards hacked to *look* like 32GB cards. Well known con is to take 1GB cards and USB sticks and re-write the firmware so that they report 16GB or more. PC will happily see it as a 16GB but when trying to copy over more than 1GB, you get errors.
Just be careful. Personally I’d never buy another USB stick or memory card on Ebay.
has anyone actually bought the 32GB micro SD cards on eBay? they’re dirt cheap but even so, I’d like to know if it’s real. I don’t want to be a victim of that hack. Can someone please let us know if they’ve tried to but it. Thanks!

Thank you for such a great blog. I have been looking for these cards!
Yes it’s a hack! I bought one 16GB Sandisk MicroSDHC card off E-Bay from a person in china. a couple of days after I bought it E-Bay cancelled the auction due to some sort of “transactions outside of E-Bay” thing, which didn’t happen. In any case, I received a card that was stamped SanDisk 16GB but that easily scratched off and was only left with “SanDisk” underneath the old “SanDisk” ..wtf? Yea the computer reports it as 16GB but like someone pointed out, file access on the card is totally unreliable…almost all files are corrupted. A couple of weeks later I tried again with a different person from china, had 32GB SanDisk card in original SanDisk packaging and everything, which I received….yet I experienced same thing as before!! This 32GB card was sampted with the “(6)” indicating class 6. I have not found any such 32GB class 6 card made my SanDisk! Furthermore, the product code on the back of the packaging says “SDSDQ-2048-p36M” which was the product code for their 2GB cards. Oh sure, it says 32GB on the front of the package, WHERE THEY PUT A 32GB STICKER!
My advice: If you decide to risky buying memory cards off E-Bay, stay away from China and other asian countries. Buy from your own country and someone that has very reputable feedback! I will never buy anything like this outside the US again.
Oh and the PayPal Buyer Protection? TOTAL CRAP!! They want you to send it back to the seller, who didnt put their address on the international shipping envelope by the way and who hasn’t been responding to your emails, before they will try getting your refund and you still have to pay to ship it back….not worth the effort if you pay less than 30 bucks with free shipping on something.
Same thing happened to me as Chad. Received a message from ebay that the sale was canceled. I requested the refund and fortunately the seller contacted me and offered a refund. The seller claimed that it was already shipped and did not know why ebay would send me such a notice. Asked if I would pay for it again once received. I received the item and it seemed to show up as 30+ GB on my PC. However when, I placed it in my Nexus One, it kept crashing my phone which is rated to accept up to 32GB micro SDHC cards. I then tried to use it as a simple USB storage device. I deeply regret this as I transferred files to free up space on my laptop and deleted the items from my laptop before saving the contents on the card to my main PC. After doing so, all of the files were corrupted and I ended up losing them. Did some research and apparently there are only so many companies manufacturing real 32GB micro SDs to date and the prices are still in the $85 to $100 dollar range. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CHINA OR HONG KONG ON EBAY for these types of items.
I also purchased a 32gb sdhc card from ebay. It came from China. When I got it I was so excited because it looked so authentic but when I tried to download music to it only about one or two albums would go on it with no issues. Also my computer recognized it as 32gb. I then noticed that the packaging had a sticker saying 32gb over a 8gb package. I was able to scratch off the
32gb on the card instantly.
I put in a resolution with ebay because I had no where to return package and though I was able to contact seller he wrote back with total nonsense but no solution, not even an address to return. I just received my money back in pay pal account today. It only took 7 days after I put in the resolution. I have no problems with ebay. I really believe they stand behind their customers and you will have no problem getting your money back especially if you purchased through pay pal. I since purchased a 32 GB from Provantage where I am awaiting the delivery of it. I got it for $141.00. I had a feeling that getting a 32 gb sdhc card for $27.50 was way to good to be through.
EXACT Same thing for me also…scammers….
One more victim here of the chinese scammers. Bought a “32gb” card and regardless of all possible atempts to make it work, I always end basically with a little piece of plastic for which I paid $30. I hope Paypal/Ebay will take care of this or I will end up swindled. Made in China became more and more a horror statement.
i want urgently 32 gb micro sd memory card(2 pc).

Sandisk 32GB Class 2 MicroSDHC Card Retail at Amazon for $97.21.
32 & 16 together for $123.31
China Micro SDHC is total crap. DONT deal with them. I had both a 16GB and a 32GB card from different sellers and they both were total crap unreliable and sent back. PAYPAL sucks as well with NO help.
This was the last time i bought something in china. Shame on the county.
i want Sandisk 32GB micro sd
I wish I could have found this before buying the card I got. I spent around $35.00 for it, got it in around 3-4 weeks. I put it in my android phone, copied everything to it, and all of a sudden android started deleting stuff left and right because the files are corrupted. I can’t put ANYTHING on there (photos or anything) without the fear of corruption. I ran some tests with MD5 to check if after transfers, the files were staying in-tact…. I’d say a very low percentage (5-10%) were transferring accurately. The rest had incorrect MD5 after transfer.
DO NOT BUY SD CARDS FROM CHINA!!!!

Just go to ebay and search for 32g micro sd. ask him to fill up the 32 gigs, it wont, the cheap sd cards you see on ebay are counterfeit, probably a 4 or 8 gb that has been flashed to show that it has 32 gb (even to the phone) but when you try to fill it it wont work. I also have been taken for a ride, bought 32GB and after a few weeks it started to loose stuff, corrupt everything and so on.
What i did, when ebay sent the email about fake sd cards, even before i received the card i followed ebays instructions and raised a claim with paypal and yeey, just the other day i got me money back
) and a card that reads 32GB but stores 1 or something…
good luck to you all, its a mine filed out there

Hi there i bought a 32 gig card from ebay. after about four weeks of having it has stopped working all together. only had 2 gig of music on it. the mad thign was every time i tryed to transfer music through phone conected by cabel the music never came up and when reconted to pc to check the folder was always there but empty. i had to resort to formating my disk and re uploading all music with the new tracks i was trying to add. i only paid 17 pounds for it it dosnt have the 6 on it or a four looks a lot liek the one in pic but the 32gb is in small letters in the middle front of the card. but seriouslly unhappy now seller had 100% feedback but has no items for sale anymore.
DON”T BUY FLASH MEMORY ON EBAY!! I bought 2 micro 32gb cards from different sellers. One from a Yankee and one from a Chinaman. Opened disputes and got my money refunded to my PayPal account. Some sellers don’t even know they are selling junk.
