It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 30 years to the day since PAC-MAN was first released.  The Japanese were the first to experience the game, but of course, PAC-MAN became wildly popular in the United States and continues to be played all over the country to this day on all sorts of gaming devices.

If you have a Windows Mobile smartphone – and are in the mood for a little nostalgic, dot-eating, ghost chasing fun – you can download and enjoy PAC-MAN, Ms. PAC-MAN and Super PAC-MAN in just a minute or two and remember what video games used to be like.

Mahjongg is a classic Chinese puzzle game where you select pairs of matching tiles to make them disappear. The objective (if you’ve never played) is to eliminate all tiles to clear the board. 

There are retail versions of Mahjongg for Windows Mobile, but there’s also a recently-updated freeware alternative called Smart Mahjongg from developer Christian Morawietz. The app is free for personal use and includes a range of features such as multiple layouts, undo, tile shuffle and game statistics.

Smart Mahjongg v2.0 requires the .NET Compact Framework 3.5 and is for touchscreen Windows Mobile devices only.

Tower defense games have been around for multiple platforms for years.  Made popular in recent years in the web browser and on the Apple iPhone, Tower Defense is now a mobile favorite.

And now Tower Defense for Windows Mobile is here.

In case you don’t know, tower defense games involve using towers of different types to kill hordes of invaders before they can make it to your protected base.  The strategy involves placement of the towers, the types of towers you place (different towers have different effects on your enemies), and how you manage your upgrades.

EA Mobile has released Star Trek for Windows Mobile , a shoot ‘em up space combat game based on the new Trek movie.
