Samsung Galaxy S III @ All Four CarriersThe Samsung Galaxy S III / Galaxy S3 Android phone is available from each of the four major U.S. wireless carriers, a rare thing in the world of smartphones.  What isn’t so rare is that three of the four carriers (other than T-Mobile) are selling the 16GB models of the S III for the exact same price on contract: $199 after various promotions, rebates, etc.

But the carriers are getting a great deal of competition from third-party sellers.

The best  price comes from Amazon for the Sprint 16GB Galaxy S III.  If you’re signing up for a new account, Amazon Wireless has the phone for $119 with free shipping; if you’re already a Sprint customer, the upgrade price is $149.

Want the AT&T version?  The price at Amazon Wireless is $149 for an upgrade, $189 for a new account.  The Verizon Galaxy S III at Amazon is $149, whether you’re upgrading or signing up for a new account.

By the way – if you do want the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S III but don’t want to pay the higher $279 price, WireFly has the phone for $199

HTC One X in Gray and WhiteBuy an HTC One X from AT&T and you’ll shell out $199 with a two-year service agreement, whether you’re already an account holder or signing up for service for the first time.  Buy the same Android phone from Amazon.com as a new AT&T subscriber, and the price falls a bit to $169.

However, in a rather unusual offering, Amazon is currently selling the HTC One X, both in gray and white, for only $119 for current AT&T account holders eligible for an upgrade.  This is odd since the price for upgrading through third-party sellers like Amazon is usually equal to or greater than the price for those signing up for new accounts with new contracts.

So, if you’ve been eying the HTC One X and had been holding off to save a little coin, now may be the time to jump.

Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTEIt’s been a long wait for this high-end smartphone, but the wait appears to be over. Sprint now has the HTC EVO 4G LTE in stock and ready to ship for $199 with a two-year service contract.

Third-party retailers are slowing getting the handset as well.  Amazon and Wirefly have the EVO 4G LTE ready to ship in days or weeks, and for $50 less than Sprint, $149.

AT&T HTC One X (White)

Few smartphones have generated as much buzz as the HTC One X, partly because we’ve known about it for so long prior to its U.S. release by AT&T and partly because of its impressive feature-set.

Well, that release occurred today, and AT&T is selling HTC’s latest handset for $199 with a two-year contract.

But if you want to save yourself $50, you can head over to Amazon.com, where the same Android phone can be yours for $149 – with contract requirements of course – shipped free.

Upgrade fees may apply irrespective of where you purchase an AT&T Phone.
