You’ll still have to wait a while for the 3G / “4G” versions, but the Wi-Fi only models of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android tablet are now available at Amazon.com.

Like the iPad that inspired it, the Motorola XOOM is now available with and without built-in 3G data hardware. The new Wi-Fi only XOOM has officially launched with an MSRP of $599.
If you don’t need 3G data (or 4G eventually) – and many tablet users will be shocked by how little they actually do need them – this is the XOOM for you.
Other than the missing 3G transceiver, the Wi-Fi XOOM remains largely unchanged; same Tegra 2 SoC, storage options, etc. And the onboard Wi-Fi is 802.11n, also compatible with B and G networks.
Online retailers currently offering the Wi-Fi XOOM: Amazon.com, NewEgg.com, and Buy.com. Or, if you’re in a rush, you can pick up the new XOOM at your local BestBuy.
Editor’s Note: It’s a shame Motorola didn’t opt to sell this thing for $399 or $349; at $599, XOOM sales will continue to disappoint.

Today, if you want Internet access with your Starbucks Venti, sugar-free, non-fat, double shot, decaf, no foam, extra hot, Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha with light whip and extra syrup, it can cost you up to $4 for two hours of Wi-Fi access.
On July 1st, that will change. The AT&T-powered wireless Internet connection offered at Starbucks locations around the country will become free for all customers on that day. The company made the announcement today at a WIRED business conference. Starbucks also announced a new in-store network:
“…in partnership with Yahoo!, which will debut later this fall. This online experience – available only in U.S. company operated Starbucks stores – will be unique in its content offerings, allowing customers free unrestricted access to various paid sites and services such as wsj.com, exclusive content and previews, free downloads, local community news and activities, on their laptops, tablets or smart phones. ”
