The Palm Z22 is priced under $100, and is the very definition of an entry-level handheld. While the unit features a color display, the first sub $100 handheld to do so, it lacks even the most basic of features such as an expansion slot.
The Z22 is powered by a 200MHz ARM-based processor and has 32MB of onboard memory, just over 20MB of which is available to the end user for storage. However, because the Z22 has no memory expansion slot, there's no way to add additional storage.
Aimed at users who need only standard PIM functionality, the Z22 is perfect as an inexpensive mobile phone book or calendar.
The Palm Z22 was officially announced on October 12, 2005.
